Will It Cite
Coming soon willitcite.com

Find out whether AI search engines can actually read, quote and cite your site.

Will It Cite checks the specific crawlers that gate ChatGPT Search, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot and Claude — then measures whether what they find is extractable. Every finding arrives with the evidence that produced it.

One email when it opens. Nothing else, and no list sharing. Prefer not to? Write to support@willitcite.com.

What gets measured

0140%

Access & Rendering

Whether the crawlers behind each answer engine can reach the page, and whether your content exists in the HTML they receive or only after JavaScript runs.

23 crawlers · RFC 9309 matching · meta robots · redirects
0210%

Machine-Readable Standards

Whether /llms.txt exists, follows the specification, and points at links that actually resolve.

spec lint · token budget · live link verification
0320%

Structured Data & Entity

Whether your JSON-LD parses at all, carries the properties consumers expect, and links your brand to identifiers that resolve it.

parse validation · missing properties · authority-tier sameAs
0430%

Content Citability

Whether sections lead with answers an engine can lift, how much verifiable evidence sits per 1,000 words, and how fresh the page is.

extractability · evidence density · attribution · freshness

Where this differs

It refuses to guess

If we cannot reach your site, you get an error explaining why — not a score. If we cannot verify a fact about your business, the generated files carry a placeholder, not an invented number. A tool that fabricates confidently is worse than no tool.

It separates retrieval from training

Blocking GPTBot costs you nothing in ChatGPT Search — OAI-SearchBot builds that index. We score the crawlers that gate citations and report training crawlers as a licensing choice, so you are never pushed into opening up training access to fix a search problem.

It checks the crawlers others skip

AI Overviews are grounded in the standard Google index and Copilot in the Bing index. A site blocking Googlebot or bingbot is invisible to both regardless of its Google-Extended policy. Most tools never look.
